Sandy S. McGaffigan, MD
Dr. McGaffigan is a native of Illinois and graduate of Rush Medical School in Chicago. She completed her Neurology training at Emory University in Atlanta, serving in a position of leadership as Chief Resident her last year. She spent a year studying sleep disorder and neuromuscular disease before starting private practice in 1996. She is Board certified and has been practicing in Atlanta since 1996 and with NW Neurology since 2007. She enjoys her work in the office and the hospital. She appreciates the challenges and hardship of living with neurological disease and seeks to improve the quality of her patients’ lives through medications, therapy and lifestyle changes.
She works part-time in order to care for her children and husband at home. She is committed to helping the poor through service at her church in Midtown Atlanta, serving on the Board for a nonprofit elementary school in a poor community of Managua, Nicaragua and doing medical mission work in Nicaragua. She enjoys running and gardening as hobbies.
